Welcome to Food Fix. It’s Election Day. I trust you all have a plan to vote and will be glued to the returns tonight and in the days to come. As they say, elections have consequences!

Formula check: Over the weekend, I popped into a Pavilions (Vons) grocery store in La Jolla, Calif., a wealthy suburb of San Diego, and found a pretty sad infant formula section. It continues to shock me that we are still dealing with half-empty shelves and purchase limits nearly nine months into this. Not good.
